Beginner Course

Familia Romana
- 🕗 Mondays at 10:00 PM ET — starting January 12, 2026 (West Coast group)
- 🕗 Tuesdays at 8:00 PM ET — starting January 13, 2026 (East Coast group)
- 🧑🎓 For learners with basic Latin knowledge or previous exposure

- 📖 Starts at Chapter 9 and continues to Chapter 33
- 🎯 Focus: vocabulary, grammar, listening, and active speaking
- 🎥 Recordings available for occasional absences; the course requires live attendance.
- 💬 Language of instruction: Latin, with minimal English for support at the beginning
- 📌 By the end of the course, you will master Latin grammar and an active core vocabulary of ~1,500 words
- 📝 Excerpts from the New Testament appear in later chapters

Mid-Beginner Course
Familia Romana

- 🧑🎓 Continuing Cohort (Started September 2025)
- 📖 The group is scheduled to reach Chapter 19 by January, with the following months focusing on the indicative tense system.
- 💬 Strong emphasis on fluent reading and retelling what you’ve read — helping you gradually transition toward reading original Latin literature with confidence
- 🎥 Recordings available for occasional absences; the course requires live attendance.
- 💬 Language of instruction: Latin with minimal English for support
- 🪶 Jump in directly if you have read the first half of Familia Romana (or reached an equivalent level)
